What people are saying
I really, really, really, really, really, really love it! I love that you teach music in such an easy way. I have a visual impairment, and so it is difficult for me to read music. Playing the piano is my top favorite hobby.
This is a wonderful music program and the results are astounding! Even if you don’t consider yourself musically talented, this program is designed for you! It is easy to understand and easy to play a full repertoire of beautiful songs from a variety of genres.
What an amazing program – there is just no comparison! We’ve tried expensive music classes before but the formality and theory classes killed the love for music in my boys. Now they love to play music. Simply Music brings out the music that is in each of us!
I have seen a lot of music programs over the years. Here’s one that has it all. In terms of presentation, effectiveness, philosophy – you name it – there’s nothing out there that compares!
Finding Simply Music has been such a special discovery and something that has empowered and bolstered my daughter’s confidence.
The 'Simply Music' method of piano teaching has certainly brought about profound changes in my son’s life.
Simply Music has broken the mold and set a new standard for what can be accomplished in a very short period of time.
After her first lesson she looked at me with her face beaming and said, “Oh Mommy! This is like magic. I can play a song!” I’ll never forget that. I highly recommend this method.
With Simply Music, it is easy to understand, clear and simple to follow, but more importantly, FUN!! We were playing an actual song by the end of the second lesson. I would recommend this to people of ALL ages, young and old.
Frequently asked questions
A. Quite simply, for the vast majority of students, if they start this week, they’ll be playing great-sounding songs by next week. Many, many of our students who start today, will be playing songs by tomorrow. And for a lot of our students, they’re playing complete songs, with both hands, the very same day that they start.
A. Here’s what happens: Your child will begin playing music right away — within the first 5 minutes. Yes, 5 minutes! They’ll start with simple but beautiful improvisations over a gorgeous, professionally-produced soundtrack that they’ll play right from their computer, tablet or smartphone. And immediately thereafter they’ll begin building a repertoire of songs. It's immediate! Of course, their results are even better if they practice regularly for a small amount of time. Having taught millions of Simply Music lessons over the last 2+ decades, we’ve found that the ideal practice routine is about 15-20 minutes daily, 4-5 days per week. Naturally, and with your support, if they’re able to practice more often, then we guarantee even more fantastic results!
A. Your child doesn't need to have any attention on, nor even any interest in reading music. As is the case with all of Simply Music's programs, our Music & Creativity program temporarily delays music-reading and draws on your child's natural and existing aural, visual and kinesthetic skills. Our unique and revolutionary approach gives them immediate access to their innate musicianship.
Our ‘play first, read later’ approach is just like learning a native language – ‘talk first, read and spell later’. They’ll build a huge repertoire of great-sounding songs learned through our natural ‘playing-based’ approach of seeing music in terms of shapes and patterns.
Remember, the brain is a pattern-seeking device, and as such, the Simply Music approach is perfectly aligned with the way that the brain loves to learn.
A. It's unlike any other piano program available. We start with playing — not with reading. No arduous scales and exercises. No tedious drills and theory. Your child will learn to play by being immersed in the experience of playing and making real music. Exactly like how they learned to talk! Right from the start they’ll be playing great-sounding songs that they’re excited about and that you'll love listening to.
With Simply Music’s playing-based approach, students play immediately — with both hands. There is an experience of success with each new piece a student plays. The pieces are fun, yet sound rich and mature. When friends and family hear your child play, they won't believe what your child has achieved in such a short amount of time. The positive feedback, combined with your child’s experience of success as well as your support, will be powerful in keeping them engaged in lessons.
A. Here at Simply Music we have an overarching goal for every student: That they will have music as a lifelong companion. Learning to play any instrument, or to be successful in any endeavor, requires a long-term relationship. As a parent, it is important to recognize that long-term relationships have peaks, valleys and plateaus that last for any length of time and are constantly changing. Recognizing that will help you to stand for your child and their commitment to playing the piano and to understand that there is nothing wrong when your child hits a valley or plateau — it's all part of the journey.
When you sign up for the MAC program, you’ll receive a FREE digital copy of the book Music and the Art of Long-Term Relationships. Written by Simply Music's Founder, Neil Moore, this educational supplement will assist you in managing your child's progress and success.
A. Surely piano lessons have one of the highest failure rates of any taught subject. The way teachers have traditionally approached piano lessons has left a vast number of students feeling as though piano is only for those who have a special talent or ability, or who work very hard for a very long time before achieving any ‘real’ success. Traditional approaches have made it both astonishingly easy and, in fact, quite likely, for the majority of students to get discouraged and give up.
However, Simply Music's breakthrough approach is completely different. We believe that absolutely everyone is deeply, naturally and profoundly musical. Playing the piano doesn't require any special talent. It's not just for some people. It’s not hard to learn and it doesn’t take a long time. It's for all people, including your child…(and even you!). We draw on your child’s existing aural, visual and kinesthetic skills and get them playing immediately by taking advantage of the brain's inherent design that looks for patterns and sequences.
Even if your child played for years and then quit, Simply Music will give them a fresh approach and immediate success. Your child will be surprised — maybe even shocked, by what they can do and what they can play by implementing a new way of learning.
